Milda Januševičiūtė: unreliable narrator. Artist talk | Cinematheque event series

On 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟭 𝗮𝘁 𝟳:𝟯𝟬 𝗽.𝗺. Meno Avilys Cinematheque will host a lecture and screening 𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 by visual artist and cultural sociologist Milda Januševičiūtė. The event will feature a selection of Milda’s own video works and will examine digital amnesia and the politics of memory in the technofeudalist age, where personal and collective histories are increasingly shaped and erased by corporate infrastructures, algorithmic filtering, and platform governance.

𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 reflects the complexities and contradictions of remembering in an era where identity is entangled with data and where the boundaries between memory, data storage and power are increasingly blurred. It looks at the oscillation between surrender and resilience, between being archived and being forgotten, seeking to capture the emotional layer of navigating memory in a world where the future feels both scripted and out of reach.
